What's Done In The Dark

Theatre

Tyler Perry
What's Done In The Dark
February 2008

I love Tyler Perry. He is very well known for playing a actress called Madea. This play is really awesome. The snip it makes me just want to watch the full version. Tyler Perry gives a message in every movie/play he makes. I like this play because it shows things that people really go through in real life sadly to say. The  name of the play is very catchy not only that if you don't understand the title just by reading it, trust me you will during the movie.

Drop That #NaeNae

Dance: NaeNae
Group: We Are Toonz

 Released: November 2013

This is not a old dance, believe it or not it hasn't even been out awhole year. Since this dance has come out  I promise you everyone is doing it, it doesn't matter if it's for a dance battle or in their music video. I'm not sure where they came up with the name but it's bringing in a lot of money so I'm sure their happy. I personaly don't care for dancing so you wouldn't catch me acting this dance out. I choose this song because it's popular and I'm pretty sure it would be around for awhile.  If there is any curse words in this video I apologize I tried to make sure there wasn't.

Man On Fire

Man On Fire
Release date : April 23, 2004
Type: Drama/Action/Thriller
Main Actor: Denzel Washington
Hard-drinking, burnt-out ex-CIA operative John Creasy (Washington) has given up on life--until his friend Rayburn (Oscar winner Christopher Walken) gets him a job as a bodyguard to nine-year-old Pita Ramos (Dakota Fanning). Bit by bit, Creasy begins to reclaim his soul, but when Pita is kidnapped, Creasy unleashes a firestorm of apocalyptic vengeance against everyone responsible.

My opinion- I love this movie, I can seriously watch it all day. Denzel is like the Best actor ever so I wasn't surprised how quickly I feel for this movie. Seeing Denzel go so hard to get the little girl back even though he was basically lifeless was just amazing. He made a promise to the mother that he would bring her child back and that's what he did and he didn't care who he had to kill to get her back. I think whoever watches this movie will fall in love just like I did.

The Skin I'm In

I love this book. I remember my first time reading this book was in elementary school. I did a whole project on this book. The book was mostly about self-confidence and as a young girl I think it is very important to have that. You can't accomplish anything in life if you don't believe in yourself. Here is a short summary about it.
A girl named Maleeka Madison who is in seventh grade and she attends McClenton Middle School. Maleeka has very dark black skin. She used to be proud of it, but when her father died, kids started picking on her. Her mother copes with the death by sews her outfits that are no where near “appealing” to the average teenager. Char, the most popular girl in the grade, makes a deal with Maleeka that if she does her home work, Char will stick up for her, bring her clothes to school and Maleeka can begin to hang out hang out with her. Miss Saunders is a new teacher arriving into the school she too gets made fun of because she has a big blotch on her face, which is a birthmark. She doesn't let the other opinions or cruel words of the students bring her down though. She consistently tries to show the students that there's more to life then just failing school to get by.

I enjoyed listening to this man speak. I can totally relate to everything that he stated because my mother is my father as well. What I loved most was when he spelled out the word M-O-T-H-E-R instead of father. He gave credit to his mom because she has been there for him like his father should have been. My mother plays all roles in my household (Mother, Father, and Best friend) because she has been the only one there and the only person that I know will never leave my side. I hate that some men have kids but can't take care of them like what's the purpose? I don't even understand how can they call themselves men when they can't own up to their responsibilities. Today I wonder what will my father say to me when he sees my sister and I.

Unconditionally

This is a picture of a music artist name Katy Perry.  In 2013 she came out with a song called unconditionally. The song has a really great beat but most importantly her lyrics are amazing. I think I mostly feel in love with the song because its talking about being accepted when your with someone and basically letting your guard down to be free.. Being in love with someone means that you "should" accept them for who they are even on their bad days and this is what her meaning was.
Lyrics:
Unconditional, unconditionally
I will love you unconditionally
There is no fear now
Let go and just be free
I will love you unconditionally

Come just as you are to me
Don't need apologies
Know that you are worthy
I'll take your bad days with your good
Walk through the storm I would
I do it all because I love you, I love you

South Korea Really Out Did Themselves

HyunDai Pavilion Yeosu

This is Hyundai Motor Group in South Korea and Unsangdong were the architects.
I picked this building because its very unique and the body reminded me of a hot tub or Jacuzzi. According to the writers "the architecture is combined with imagination of new future waves and the motion of Hyundai Motors Group". "The building has sections of various waves, which signifies three dimensional “Blue Ocean Wave” movements which is overlapped and connected". "This also connects with the architectural expression of constantly changing corporate brand image". I think if the were really trying to grab people attention they really did because just looking at the building makes me want to just go there and look around.

Awakening 3

Awakening III, Mark Yale Harris

Designer: Mark Yale Harris
Name: Awakening 3
Sculpture: Bronze on Bronze
Size:16 H x 13W x 7in
Symbolizes: awakening to one's self. Waking up! The power in knowing yourself, your body, your needs and desires
My opinion: When reading the Arthur opinion on the meaning of this sculpture I was blown away. When I look at this I would think more of frustration of a woman. A woman being tired of going through whatever problems she is having. I would also look at this sculpture and would say maybe guilt or being ashamed of something because of her head being held down.

Be careful who you put your Trust in to

Gun-Handshake-War-Peace
This drawing symbolizes war. (Peace not War) I believe it was put together to show that sometimes the people who are supposed to protect us are the ones that kills us or break us down. It stimulated me because there is violence happening everywhere in the world right now. The biggest talked about crime is the shooting in St. Louis with the African American teen who was shot by a police officer. A police officer job is to protect citizens from harm and that's what we Trust them to do but as shown in media that Trust was broken when the teen was killed. I think this drawing also tells that the world is changing everyday and no one is safe no matter the place or time.
